The Pell Grant is the largest federal grant program offered to undergraduates, and is designed to assist students from low-income households. A Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid, except under certain circumstances. To qualify for a Pell Grant, a student must demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA form.
Pell Grant awards are available to students that have not yet achieved a bachelor's degree.
Students are limited to six years of Pell Grant eligibility.
Pell Grant awards are funded on an annual basis by Congress, and may fluctuate from year-to-year. The maximum pell grant award for the 24-25 award year is $7,395.

A Direct Subsidized Loan is a type of federal student loan where a borrower isn’t generally responsible for paying interest while actively attending school, during their grace period (six months after graduating or falling below half-time enrollment), or during periods of deferment.
To apply for a federal student loan, you must first complete and submit a FAFSA form. Any loans that you are eligible for will be included in your financial aid package and will be discussed with you during your initial financial aid meeting.

The current interest rate for Direct Subsidized Loans disbursed during the 2024-2025 award year is 6.53%.

Unsubsidized loans are available to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students regardless of financial need.
Borrowers are responsible for paying all interest that accrues on an unsubsidized loan up until the full balance of the loan has been paid.
To apply for a federal student loan, you must first complete and submit a FAFSA form. Any loans that you are eligible for will be included in your financial aid package and will be discussed with you during your initial financial aid meeting.

Direct PLUS Loans are federal loans that parents of dependent undergraduate students can use to help pay for their student's education.
Direct PLUS loans accrue interest continuously throughout the life of the loan, including while the student is enrolled in school.
Applications for the Parent PLUS loan must be completed separately on the studentaid.gov site. Parent borrowers will be required to complete a Master Promissory Note for their loan to be processed.
The current interest rate for Parent PLUS loans disbursed during the 2024-2025 award year is 9.08%.
