What made you decide to pursue a career in the beauty industry?

I decided to pursue a career in the beauty industry because my grandma had a salon in her home growing up. As I have gotten older I have realized the connections she has created with her clients and their families. I want to learn and grow as an individual and build those connections that will last a lifetime. Katie

I have been interested in the beauty industry since I was a kid and always knew it was something I wanted to do.  Maliyah

I was always unsure of what I wanted to pursue after high school, until I started talking with my esthetician about her experiences in the beauty industry. After a few months of thinking, I decided it was something I was really interested in! Kyleigh

I have always had a fascination with the beauty industry. I love to style my friends and family's hair and I want to continue to help others feel empowered, confident and beautiful in their appearance, which is why I want to pursue a career in this industry.  Sophie

What made you decide on Capitol Beauty School?

When I first walked into Capitol, I knew this was where I wanted to be. Everyone was very welcoming and I felt a sense of community. Katie

Capitol seems to value their students and their education. I have heard nothing but good things & when I toured I knew it was the place for me. Maliyah

Capitol was the first school I toured and everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. It seemed like such a great time, I knew it was for me! Kyleigh

I chose Capitol because they have a history of developing great stylists. From what I have heard the environment is a welcoming, positive and encouraging place to grow our passion and skills in the industry. Sophie

What does your involvement look like in the industry now?

I have always been the team braider on my sports team and find myself answering questions about hair even if I haven’t started school yet! Katie

Well I work at European Wax Center & I have always been interested and what the other staff does there. It gave me a passion to wanna pursue a career like them. Maliyah

I love skincare and I go to an esthetician for a lash lift and tint around every two months. Kyleigh

Right now I do not have much involvement in the industry. I style my friends and families hair when needed and am looking to shadow my aunt who has her own salon. Sophie

How do you plan to make an impact on people's lives when you begin school & move to the salon/spa?

By just making them smile & making sure they are satisfied.  Maliyah

I want to make an impact on people’s lives by showing them a beautiful new side of themselves that they may not have seen before. Kyleigh

I want to make an impact by being a positive, friendly, trustworthy, and uplifting presence in school and the salon. I plan to do this by working hard, treating others with respect, and keeping things positive. Sophie

What inspires and motivates you?

Seeing the unlimited opportunities available in the beauty industry motivates me to work hard and learn everything there is to know about the industry.  Katie

What inspires me is to see people's confidence after leaving the salon. Maliyah

I am motivated by seeing other people become successful in this industry and seeing what they are capable of, I know if I work hard it can be me too! Kyleigh

My motivation comes from the fact that one day I can accomplish my goals if I just put my head down and work hard. Seeing people so happy and doing what they love is what inspires me. Sophie

What are you looking forward to most when starting school?

I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning new things! Maliyah

I am looking forward to building new relationships and I am very excited to begin learning new things. Kyleigh

I am excited to start a new chapter of my life. I am looking forward to meeting new people, and furthering my knowledge and skills in the industry. Sophie

What made you decide to pursue a career in the beauty industry?

“Beauty and skincare have always been a hobby of mine growing up, I want to make people feel more confident and beautiful in their own skin.”

What made you decide on capitol?

“I was looking at many schools but after touring capitol I knew that it was the perfect fit for me.”

What does your involvement look like in the industry now?

“I work at a salon and really enjoy learning about clients and different treatments based on each clients lifestyle. I like to learn and try new makeup and beauty techniques on my friends and family.”

What is something that you want to overcome during your time here at Capitol?

“I think what scares me most is not knowing what the future holds, I want to get a sense of what works for me and what doesn’t and what services are going to be beneficial.”

How do you plan to make an impact on people’s lives when you begin school?

“I want to make sure clients are relaxed and feel comfortable with me, I want to be their safe place and make them feel more comfortable and confident by the time they leave.”

what are you looking forward to most when starting school?

“I am excited to make new relationships and connections while pursuing something that I love.”
