We are blessed to be a part of this industry in more ways than one.

Our Capitol journey began when we purchased Capitol in 2018. This was a few years after we were owners Scissors & Scotch mens’ salons in Omaha, NE and Austin, Tx. Realizing the importance of education in the beauty industry, we expanded and purchased Penrose Academy in Scottsdale, AZ shortly thereafter.  We have been able to leverage the knowledge, history, and expertise of both of the schools to bring together meaningful educational experiences for our students.  

We actively participate in the national AACS (formerly known as American Beauty School Association started in 1924).  Matt has served as a Board Member since 2023 and participates in Hill Day where AACS members stand together and share our knowledge of our sector of education with Members in Congress on Capitol Hill in this highly regulated industry.  We strive to continue to learn the newest teaching methods, current industry happenings, and legislative updates and apply them to our schools.  

It is inspiring to be part of an organization of talented people where students can maximize their potential and achieve professional success. 

While we keep plenty busy, in our spare time we enjoy golfing and summer outdoor activities with our three children.
