Cosmetology Student Instructor

Hi, I’m Sierra Stephens, a student Cosmetology Instructor at Capitol Beauty School! My journey with Capitol started when I graduated from the program in January 2020, and I’m so excited to now be back as an instructor, helping future stylists grow in their careers.

After graduating, I had the opportunity to assist an incredible salon owner and stylist who taught me everything about blonding and color. From there, I started taking my own clients while renting a chair in her salon, and after about a year and a half, I moved into booth renting at Onyx Studios. Having both mentorship and the experience of working independently helped shape me into the stylist I am today.

One of the things I love most about teaching at Capitol is getting to share my knowledge and passion with students while continuing to grow myself—not just as an instructor, but as a hairstylist as well. It’s so rewarding to be surrounded by people who love this industry as much as I do and to be a part of their journey.

Outside of the salon and classroom, I spend a lot of time coaching high school cheerleading and being with my family. I love staying busy, and there’s nothing better than seeing both my students and my cheer team grow in confidence and skill.

Being part of the Capitol team is an incredible experience, and I’m excited to inspire and support the next generation as they find their own path in this industry!
